Initial Emsella Assessment
What to expect
This is an approximatley 45 minute session where an initial intake history will be done to assess if the Emsella chair is the right and best treatment for your concern. Risks, benefits and discussion on lifestyle measures to assist in symptom treatment will be discussed, and you're initial Emsella treatment will be completed.
Regular Emsella Treatment
What to expect
This is an approximatley 30 minute appointment where a quick assessment will occur on how you made out from your last treatment, review the chair settings and get you set up for your 28 minute treatment on the Emsella chair.
Maintenance Emsella Treatment
What to expect
A 35 minute reassessment appointment to see how the therapy has worked and undergo a maintenance treatment. Just like any muscle in our body, ongoing therapy needs to occur to keep them working to the best of their ability. Many patients will find they need a maintenance treatment between 6 months to a year to continue to see optimal benefits.
Contraindications
Definite:
- Pregnancy
- Metal implants such as packemakers and cardiac pacemakers
- Pulmonary insufficiency
- Metal IUDs
Possible:
- Menstruation - appointments will need to be booked outside of dates as products used interfere with electromagnetic waves
- Anticoagulants/blood thinners
- Metal implants - any implants in the lower back or pelvis may heat up from the electromagnetic therapy
- Insulin pumps - will need to be removed to undergo treatment
